A 19th century coopered desk jar tobacco box, made in the form of a Royal Navy rum barrel. 
With three brass bands riveted to the reverse and  beautiful ornate brass hinges and locking clasp.
Shows signs of age and wear but has been lovingly looked after with wax over the years.
Measures 16cm high x 17cm wide x 12cm deep.
Weighs just under a kilo.
