A super example of a vintage 19th Century teak and iron Capstan.

Used by the sailors who inserted poles in to the holes to rotate and pull the anchor up.

Pretty sure it's Teak, the wood's in such good condition for it's age and it would make sense as it naturally resiste salt and mooisture.

Did think the bands were brass but they are definitely iron.

Stands 43cm high x 23cm top diameter x 28cm at it's widest point.
