A Dutch silver Ducaton dating to 1742 with Hollandia certificate.

The Hollandia sunk in 1743 carrying a cargo of silver for trading in the Far East.

Certified by the Numismatic Guaranty Company who are the worlds largest and trusted third party coin grading and authenticating service. Sealed within a tamper proof plastic holder for authentication and protection from the environment.

1 Silver Ducaton weighing approx 32 g and measuring 42mm.

Bearing an armoured knight brandishing a sword aloft on a galloping horse over the crowned shield of West Friesland. These coins held the nickname of a 'silver rider'.

The reverse displays the crowned arms of the United Provinces supported by two lions, with the 1742 date in a decorative cartouche at the bottom.

It has the grading 'XF details' meaning it has the sharpness of an 'Extremely fine' coin but the saltwater has exposed the silver to ware spending 220 years underwater.

This XF grading also shows the coin had very little use before it disappeared under the depths.

Case measures 9cm x 6.
