An historic silver clock with the legends 'RNYC FUJIYAMA' in blue and two burgees belonging to the Royal Clyde and Royal Northern Yacht Club. With rope twist silver surround and silver sections separating the legends and burgees. It measures 19cm diameter and 7cm deep. We purchased this clock in Ireland.

The clock movement has this stamped on it V.AP. BREVETE. S.G.D.G. which is a patent mark and a 'no guarantee from the Government' mark!

With kind help from the RNCYC archives we now know:-

Fujiyama was a 160 ton steam yacht built by John Reid of Whiteinch, Glasgow in 1895. She was built for Andrew Coats of the Paisley Thread dynasty. He sold her on by 1898. Coats was a member of the Royal Clyde and Royal Northern Yacht club whose burgees are shown on the clock. We think this clock was made for display on the yacht.

The Lloyds register shows FUJIYAMA being owned by a K.A Wallenberg in 1919 and 1936 and registered in Stockholm. Knut Agathon Wallenberg was a Swedish banker and politician and a founder of the Stockholm school of economics.
