An absolute beauty of a find - a 19th century ships brine barrel made from oak with brass bands and a hinged lid. Of conical oval shape. Brass carrying rings to the sides.

Its probable that food was stored in here in brine to preserve it.

She measures a whopping 80cm high x 60cm wide x 48cm deep.
