A brass astral ships clock made by SMITHS used for watch keeping on the bridge with hinged brass bezel and bevelled glass. Large outer ring in minutes, inner ring for hours, red second hand and a slow/fast lever. Admiralty pattern number also present on the dial. Comes with a key.
To the right hand side of the case is also the brass knob used for setting the time and to the left the temporary stop/start button. Great clock.
The barrel slips when it's being wound but it runs for 7days, it has been suggested that this might be to prevent it being over wound.
Glass diameter 19.5cm. 11cm high. Base 26.5cm diameter. Weighs 3.3kg.
