A signed whaling scene whale tooth on a stand measuring 12.5cm x 5cm x 3cm.
A sperm whale rearing out of the sea with whaling crew to the foreground and whaling ship to the background. Signed to the lower left 'John'. This tooth has been done by the Dutch artist John van Opstal who lived in the Azores and made his living scrimshanding.
