A sperm whales tooth necklace known as a Tabua. The plaque reads 'Lieut S.F Dudley Smith. From The Fijian Company. F.D.F. 12/5/34'. From our research we have found a Sydney Francis Dudley Smith who died in 1964, so we assume the date inscribed to be 1934. The tooth measures 18.5cm x 5cm.
