A whalebone whaling stamp of rough rectangular form depicting a Sperm whale and cross hatching to one side and the inscription 'Ship Turtle, 1878' to the other. Both ends have cross hatching, there are holes to either edge and a small split to one side. Shown in images. Measures 10.5cm x 2cm.
