No.233

A Walrus tusk measuring 47cm long by 7cm at it's widest point. It is scrimmed on one side. We have a scene of icebergs, Yarangas (domed shaped dwellings), sleds, the ice shore, Inuits or Yupiks and a seal. We believe this scrimshaw to be of Russian heritage hence why the people may be The Yupiks of the Chukchi peninsular - far north east Russia.
