Depicting an 'Apotheosis of Nelson'
The central scene depicts an allegorical representation of Brittania and Hope grieving together next to a commemorative urn. The other three roundels depict a Goddess sitting at Nelsons tomb with a protective Laurel branch, another kneeling at an urn - a classic mourning vignette and the last a literal context of two of Nelsons officers with ship in the background.
