A naval Husun sextant by the makers Henry Hughes & Son Ltd dated 1944. No 42745. 3 1/2" radius. These small instruments were for small craft or aeroplanes such as fighting boats or convoy escort with the same ability as the full size sextants. The micrometer drum is the same and tested error is good. This one has a 'broad arrow' on the arm denoting naval whereas the air ministry ones have 'A.M' on them. Finished with a heavy crackle black standard finish as seen from the early 40's. Plywood case. Measures 19x 17.5 x 12.5cm.
