Original vintage mid 20th century enamel Royal National Lifeboat Institution sign in two horizontal parts. This would originally have been fixed to the exterior of a lifeboat station, the enamel able to take the harsh weather and salty air much better than wood.
Age related rust and ageing but the sign retains its original lettering and shape.
One like this would have been situated prominently outside the main doors of a station such as Penlee in Cornwall.
Measures 184cm wide x 30.5cm high each piece.
