A hand painted figure by Michael Sutty of 'Drummer. The King's Regiment', signed to the bottom.

As expected of the level of skill and beauty of all Michaels pieces, this one is no different.

The colouring and attention to detail on the uniform and drum is fabulous.

To the base it is hand painted with '1BN (1st Battalion) THE KINGS OWN BORDER REGIMENT'

He stands 18.5cm high x 7.5cm diameter base

The King's Own Royal Border Regiment was an infantry regiment of the British Army in existence from 1959 and was part of the King's Division. It was formed at Barnard Castle on 1 October 1959 through the amalgamation of the King's Own Royal Regiment (Lancaster) and the Border Regiment.

In 2006 it was merged into The Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment.

Michael Sutty was born in 1937. In later years after serving his time in the Army, Michael experimented with clay and for several years worked alone producing military figures. The business became established around 1962 and in November 1985 Michael Sutty Porcelain Limited had a Gallery and Sales Office at 11 Duke Street, St. James, London and a Head Office at The Porcelain Manufactory, Brick Kiln Lane, Etruria, Stoke on Trent.
