A fishermans aneroid barometer as issued by the Royal National Life Boat Institution, made by Dolland, London and numbered No.3455. With a zinc case, hand annotated enamel dial, heavy bevelled plate glass and a gilt tell tale. Both Dolland and Negretti and Zambra were the only suppliers deemed of sufficient quality to produce these. Records show they were being sold as early as 1864. They were originally priced at £5 and 5 shillings !
