A super woolwork of HMS Warrior, the first and only surviving example of an iron hulled, armoured battleship. (Now at Portsmouth) Powered by steam and sail she was the fastest ship of her day in 1860. The woolwork is in good condition for its age and is inset with two photographs of ladies, one can only imagine who of.... in a birdseye maple frame. (a piece is worn and missing from bottom right) She flys a white ensign, a union jack, a commodores burgee and one other. A super piece of history. Measures 59cm x 49cm.
