Carved mermaids

A pair of beautiful mermaid-like carvings made from either pine or white cedar. These carvings were found in an estate in Fisher Island, Florida. They had been in a Spanish/Argentinian family for generations and are believed to be 19th century. They measure 72 1/2cm from top to bottom, 24cm at her widest point (elbow to elbow) and are 15cm deep.
